About Moore Haven
What Moore Haven lacks in dining and retail, it makes up for with country grit and outdoor opportunities. It is the county seat of Glades County and at one time was a booming town due to its strategic location where the Caloosahatchee and Lake Okeechobee meet.
Fun Fact: Moore Haven had the First Female Mayor of the South. In 1917, Marian Newhall Horwitz was elected as mayor, First Female Mayor of Moore Haven, Florida, and the South.
If you desire country living, you won’t get much more country than Moore Haven. Cattle still outnumbers people in Glades County. Not to mention the hunting and fishing opportunities in this sportsman paradise.
